Elderly Services
The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers (HACFM) employees a full-time Elderly Services Coordinator for senior residents at our two senior developments, Bonair Towers and Royal Palm Towers. The HACFM has a partnership with Norstar Accolade to provide elderly services for the residents at the Renaissance Preserve Senior. The Elderly Services Coordinator is available to assist residents and connect them to services. The Elderly Services Coordinator delivers broad assistance to seniors through a highly personalized approach. The elderly resident needs are assessed and they receive assistance to navigate the social services system. These services are offered through referrals to senior supportive agencies in the community: Adult Daycare Enrollment, Counseling/Substance Abuse, Eviction Prevention, Home Health Services, Prescription Drug Program Assistance, Recreational Services, Utility Assistance and Lifeline-Link Up, and GED/Literacy Training Education.

The HACFM has a partnership with Senior Friendship Centers a not-for-profit organization that has been providing quality supportive services in Lee County since 1979. Senior Friendship offers a full range of services designed to help older individuals live independently and with dignity in their own homes. The Neighborhood Friendship Cafes is a very popular service. They offer a hot meal daily Monday – Friday at the Renaissance Preserve Senior and Bonair Towers. During the lunch period Senior Friendship representative invites senior service providers to present information on nutrition, hypertension, diabetes prevention and many other educational services for the senior population.

For more information about senior resources and services please contact the Elderly Services Coordinator, Jennifer Avin at (239) 3332-3825 Ext 309.
