Department Mission
To create an environment fostered toward assisting our families in becoming economically self-sufficient. Our mission is to assist them through the Community Supportive Services (CSS) Center; a one stop shop providing Financial Literacy, English As A Second Language, Job Training, Basic Computer Training, General Education Development (GED), and many more programs. Also, we will seek the involvement of the highest-quality organizations to provide services to our residents. The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers would like more of our residents to become homeowners. We proudly support resident's transition to independence with the Housing Choice (Section 8) Voucher Home ownership Program.

Personal Statement: "Growing up in St. Louis, Missouri, I was surrounded by injustices everyday facing people of color, women, and youth. This caused me to become driven to do something about it, and fight for those in need while offering my assistance as well. My goal as an intern at HACFM is to learn as much as possible from my colleagues and clients, while beginning a new era in public housing in which people do not feel defeated by economic hardship but instead are motivated to pursue a better lifestyle for themselves and their families. Once I earn my Bachelors of Social Work (BSW), I hope to find a career path in the macro field leading agencies, committees, and campaigns that pursue the justice and well being of everyone. "  ~ Josh McKie
